What Mothers Day gifts do you get for the woman who gave you the greatest gift of all—your life? Mother’s Day is this weekend and everyone is scrambling to make brunch reservations and pick out the right flower bouquets. When you go to sign your mom’s card this year, take a moment to reflect beyond the generic card message and convey your own message that thanks her for her unending support. Write the kind of card that you’d want your own children to give to you. If you’re looking for unique ways to show your mom support, aside from chocolates and a touching card, why not give her the gift of a new bra? Bra expert and stylist Lisa Cole shares how to celebrate Mother’s Day with the best support you can buy:
It’s time to embrace the women who make our lives so meaningful…our moms. A mother’s love is priceless. Moms have been our care takers since infancy and have never let us down no matter what age or stage of life we’re in. I am sure we can all recall our favorite “mom stories” that are both funny and tender. From every little moment in the carpool lane to school to our larger touchstone memories like weddings and graduation, mom is ALWAYS there.
The other day, I asked an associate and personal friend Cindy T., who is a make-up artist and mother to five children (two of them adopted), why she loves being a mother. She answered, “I knew I always wanted to be a mom. When I adopted my first child, she looked up at me and I sensed she that picked me, not the other way around. When she was four years old, without me ever telling her how I felt, she turned to me and said ‘mom I am so glad I picked you’. It melted my heart, and I know being a mother is a role that should never be taken lightly, but it’s an honor everyday that I have the ability to encourage my children to be the best and be their mentor in this journey called life”!
Wow, what a great philosophy Cindy has for being a mom. However, taking care of yourself when you’re a mother is not an easy task. Selfless and tireless seem to be the words that describe every mom. So what do you give the lady who wears the Superwoman cape every day?
Encourage her to get a new bra that actually fits. Many of my clients tell me that bad fitting bras are the norm for their mothers because they put their families’ needs over their own. Mother’s Day should be all about mom, so log into LeadingLady.com and start searching for her new favorite bra! Whether she is your daughter and nursing her first child or it’s your grandmother and has a leisure lifestyle, a new bra does a body good, and of course you look great when you’re uplifted no matter what age.
Happy Mother’s Day Leading Ladies to you and yours. Enjoy!
