Most of all the other beautiful things in life come by twos and threes, by dozens and hundreds. Plenty of roses, stars, sunsets, rainbows, brothers and sisters, aunts and cousins, but only one mother in the whole world. –Kate Douglas Wiggin
Each mom is one-of-a-kind, a one-and-only match for her children. Mother’s Day is such a special time to reflect on all the wonderful ways our mother’s have influenced our lives. From infancy to where you stand today, your mom has surely shaped who you are as a woman. She has taught you many valuable lessons. Some you can pinpoint like how to write your name, bake oatmeal cookies or drive a car. Others are morals and values that are part of your character and inform your everyday decisions.
Moms have held our hands through so many times in our lives, making us feel special and important no matter what else was happening in their own lives. Perhaps your mom took you to your first musical that inspired your love for song. She may be the one who encouraged your sense of adventure and love for nature by spending time exploring outdoors. Maybe she took you on shopping sprees and you owe your keen sense of fashion to mom. She probably took you to your first bra fitting too, stressing the importance of a great bra for every occasion!
We hope this Mother’s Day you will take a moment and think about all the fabulous ways your mom has enriched your life and the role model she has been to you. If she is close by, tell her with a hug. If she is far away, tell her on the phone or video conference. If she is a lasting memory in your heart, tell send her special prayers of love.
Happy Mother’s Day!
