Guest Post: Bridal Fashion

We love hearing from fellow fashionistas, and this week one of our favorite Leading Ladies is offering some fashion insights. Jai Marshall, owner of The Fat and the Skinny on Fashion, gives her perspective on how brides this season can be both a Leading Lady and a princess.

It’s hard to believe that just a year ago, Kate Middleton married Prince William in her much talked about Alexander McQueen wedding dress. The dress reminded so many of Princess Grace. Her gown was not only gorgeous, but surprised many women because the dress had sleeves. It has been the norm for many years to wear strapless bridal gowns for Spring and Summer weddings, but now long sleeved and 3/4 sleeved wedding gowns are gaining in popularity.

This style of wedding dress has become so popular, even sexy mall chain Bebe designed a Kate Middleton knock-off for their upcoming bridal collection. Wedding dresses with sleeves are a dream come true for full figure brides who are skeptical of or not so comfortable with strapless dresses and strapless bras.

bridal fashionWhat kind of bra does the blushing bride wear with this type of wedding dress? Well you could try Leading Lady’s Lace Cup Underwire Full Figure Bra if you prefer a traditional bra with plunging cut in the front. If you want something that has the look and feel of a corset, try the Front Closure 3/4 Length Softwire Full Figure Bra. The long line bra will support the chest and back for a long wedding day and night. Now any bride can look like a princess on their special day.

Thanks Jai!  We love your site and your infinite fashion wisdom.  To continue with the bridal theme, this week on facebook and twitter, we are sharing bridal shower tips from some of our other fabulous Leading Lady bloggers.  Check them out and feel free to add your tips as well.
