Breastfeeding Success Story: Carrie from Hamblen County WIC
“Carrie enjoyed breastfeeding her daughter Josephine and was looking forward to having the same experience with her second baby, Andrea. After Andrea’s birth, Josephine became jealous of her new sister, especially when it became time to nurse. Carrie became so frustrated that she considered weaning Andrea from the breast at 4 months instead of 12 months as she had planned. However with the help of the WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselors, Carrie was able to come up with ways to involve big sister with feeding and avoid weaning Andrea.”
