Ways to Look Younger in 2017 – Part 2
We’re back with our series on ways to look younger in 2017. Start the New Year off with a boost of youthfulness with these tips for looking as young as you feel:
Exercise for Anti-Aging
Youthfulness comes from the inside, out. Physical activity keeps your organs, from your brain to your heart, in better shape. Plus, exercise releases happiness endorphins that will lift your mood and outlook for a more vibrant and upbeat you. When you workout you also produce natural oils that support healthier skin and you get our blood pumping to invigorate your body and offer a natural blushed look.
Update your Hairstyle
Hair can be quite the tattletale when it comes to age. If you’re inclined, cover grey hairs and add subtle highlights for a sun-kissed glow. Rediscover luster and shine with revitalizing shampoos and conditioners and add volume to your hair by blowing it dry and brushing it upside down, and using mousse. Try a softer hairstyle as well or trade in tight top knots for looser low buns. Also go for wispy bangs or a new part that can cover forehead wrinkles.
Sometimes your attempt to cover your age is actually making you look older. Case in point, the wrong makeup. Wear light makeup that won’t settle into facial creases that show your age. A tinted moisturizer may be all you need on a daily basis. Do treat under-eye circles with a night serum (or tea bags) and light concealer during the day. Volumize and curl lashes for a more youthful look but go softer on eye shadow and lipstick shades. In the New Year, play with a new color pallet that will make your friends and acquaintances do a double take when they see how young you look.
Whiten your Teeth
Teeth are another area that shows your age, especially if you are a soda or coffee drinker. There are several options when it comes to teeth whitening: you can go professional to get it done quickly although this will cost more. You can purchase an at-home kit from your dentist or over-the-counter. Or you can make your own teeth-whitening formula using baking soda and water. Also use a teeth whitening toothpaste to keep your smile shiny and bright.
Sleep More
Of course lack of sleep may age your appearance more than anything else. Do your best to get the sleep you need. With life’s obligations this can be tough but make sleep a priority. Establish a regular bedtime and ensure you set yourself up for successful sleep with the right sleep environment. When you feel rundown from lack of sleep, schedule a nap on the weekend or make a point to go to bed earlier for a few nights in a row.
We wish you a happy and youthful 2017!
