Full Figured Fashion: High Impact Detail Completes the Look this Fall and Winter

Full figured fashion this season gives you permission to be loud!  Seasons past have valued the understated simplicity of muted tones, little-to-none ornamentation and basic fabric choices.  That’s not the case during the colder months to come.  Fall and winter 2013 is all about clothing bling.  We’re seeing jeweled embellishments, illuminating shimmer, fun-loving lines, exaggerated cuts and lots of feathers.  And we’re loving all of it!

Slice It Up and Poof it Out

Slits and volume are popular this season, from the shoulders to the thighs.  Watch for interesting shoulder slits, cut-outs and rounded shoulders that create a dramatic effect.  If your arms are not your favorite feature, slits are an ideal way to show a little skin and still keep your arms covered with a full sleeve.  Plus a full rounded shoulder creates a slimming tapered illusion.  Definitely show some leg this season with thigh high slits. 

Ruffle Your Feathers

Make a statement in fluffy feathers in interesting colors.  Ostrich feathers are especially popular this season, which is nice because they are thin and don’t add bulk to garments.  Try contrasting colors too. If being covered in feathers is not your style, try a more subdued approach with a feather detailed belt, bag or pendant.

Dazzle Them

Sparkle your way through the season with jewel, sequin and metallic embellishments.  We’re fans of applying color blocking to this trend for slimming looks, or create a pattern. Don’t forget to bedazzle your accessories, including shoes, handbags and hats.  A Leading Lady always needs her jewels!
